Find God as you consider the beauty He has created! Experience the Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, near Carmel, California.
By Karen O’Connor:
There is nothing like a few hours in the forest and at the Pacific Ocean all on the same day. It’s my favorite activity, and I work it into my schedule at least twice a year.
Yesterday was one of those days. Finding God at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve comes easily to me at this special place. One visit and you see immediately why it is considered “the crown jewel of the State Park System.”
Its name comes from the offshore rocks at Punta de los Lobos Marinos, Point of the Sea Wolves. Here the cry of the sea lions carries inland. Breathtaking vistas, intriguing rock formations, ancient trees, and well-trod trails make it worth whatever time you can spare.
The area appeals to sightseers, photographers, painters, nature enthusiasts, SCUBA divers and joggers. Rare plant communities, endangered archeological sites, unique geological formations, and rich flora and fauna grace both land and sea. There is something here for everyone.
Meanwhile, remember the one who created all this beauty! Consider these beautiful words from the Bible:
“But now ask the beasts, and let them teach you;
And the birds of the heavens, and let them tell you.
Or speak to the earth, and let it teach you;
And let the fish of the sea declare to you.
Who among all these does not know
That the hand of the Lord has done this . . .” (Job 12:7-9)
