Finding God When You’re UpSide Down

By ©2011 Karen Moore

Hanging upside down, not only causes all the blood to rush to your head, it makes your heart pound a bit too loudly and your mind race like it’s part of the Daytona 500.  Finding God when you’re upside down isn’t always easy.  When life flips you without warning, without cause, remember He’s still there.  He faithfully stands by ready to assist

Fortunately, how you feel about a situation isn’t the thing that moves God forward or causes Him to drag His feet. The  One you may have shaken your puny fist at, is the very One who will pull you up when you ask for help.  He’s the very One who will put you back on solid ground.  When life is topsy-turvey, the only way to look is up!

As you climb back to the top and stand strong once again, you begin to see that faith and reason do not always exist in forms you can understand.  Pascal said, “It is the heart which is conscious of God, not the reason. This then is faith: God is sensible to the heart, not to the reason.”

We need to encourage each other to hang on and to trust that good will come. Maybe it’s not pleasant to hang on, but with God, you have a chance to rise above your circumstances, renewed and revived.  Finding God when you’re upside down means you give faith a chance to really show itself to you once again. Hold on tight and keep looking up. The climb may not be as far as you think.
